Job summary

NIS EXPRESS in Bakersfield, CA is seeking CDL-A drivers starting with paid training and a clear path to solo ownership. Trainees ride with an experienced trainer and earn during training, then move to their own truck with full pay.

Western regional runs keep you close to home, with guaranteed first weeks pay and competitive weekly earnings. Between 2 weeks home time, year-round miles across the 11 western states, and performance bonuses, this role offers a solid entry path for new CDL holders

Qualifications

• CDL-A in hand, no experience: 120+ hours from an accredited CDL school. Paid training with a driver trainer, paid every week while you learn.
• Experienced drivers: 6 months OTR in the last 12 months, or 12 months in the last 5 years. Skip training and go straight to your own truck.
• All applicants must have Class A CDL, 21 or older; no more than 2 moving violations in 2 years; able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.

Have your CDL-A but no driving experience yet? This is where you start. Bakersfield drivers can build a career on a western regional fleet that keeps runs short, usually no more than 2 days from home, and trains new CDL holders on the road.

How You Start

• Ride with an experienced driver trainer on real loads
• $650 per week during training
• Move into your own truck on full pay once your trainer signs off
• $1,000 per week guaranteed for your first 3 months of solo driving

The Job

• Dry van freight across the 11 western states
• 1,700 to 2,100 miles per week
• Home every 2 weeks
• Option to run past the western states if you want more miles

Pay

• Average weekly earnings of $1,000 to $1,300
• Standard mileage pay scale that grows with experience
• Up to 6 cents per mile extra in performance bonus
• $15 stop pay
