Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver – CDL (A) to safely operate a heavy truck for delivery and removal of large containers. You will ensure vehicle compliance with safety standards, complete daily VCRs, and adhere to all state and federal regulations while servicing customer routes in a timely manner.

The role emphasizes operating both manual and automatic controls, performing minor container repairs, and maintaining open communication with dispatchers and customers.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL with air brakes endorsement.
• Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude for minor repairs.
• Strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete vehicle pre- and post-operation inspections per policy.
• Safely operate heavy truck along designated route to service customers.
• Load/unload refuse, operate compactor, and dispose of materials.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and other staff.
• Perform minor repairs to containers on site or in the yard.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them per procedures.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable types of material.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure readiness to minimize downtime.
• Complete route productivity sheets, VCRs, and reports as required.
• Adhere to productivity standards to service customers on time.
• Follow all safety policies and participate in ReSOP program.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
