Job summary

American Driver LLC in Missouri is seeking regional intermodal truck drivers around the St. Louis area. You’ll take the tractor home on days off, with 5 days out and 2 days home, and operate 75% drop and hook with 25% live load or unload.

The package features a $10,000 sign-on bonus, a weekly average pay of $1,500 (about $78,000 yearly), hazmat and detention pay, and comprehensive benefits. Training and on-site support are provided to assist dispatch and payroll.

Qualifications

• 3 months verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last 6 months with one carrier, 6 months in the last 12 months, or 12 months in the last 5 years.
• Hazmat endorsement within 90 days of hire (cost reimbursed)
• Must pass hair and urine drug testing, with no failed drug or alcohol test in the last 5 years

Responsibilities

• Operate regional intermodal routes between rail yards and customers within 300 miles.
• Take tractor home or park at the St. Louis terminal; 5 days out, 2 days home.
• Manage 75% drop and hook, 25% live load/unload activities.
• Follow on-site guidance from transportation manager for dispatch and payroll

Most regional jobs make you drive to the terminal every Monday and leave your truck there. This one lets you take it home. Regional intermodal work out of the St. Louis area, a $10,000 sign-on bonus and a $1,500 weekly average.

The Pay

• Weekly Average: $1,500, about $78,000 a year
• Mileage: $0.56 per mile to start, up 1 cent each year to $0.61, on about 2,000 miles a week
• Drop and Hook: $25 each
• Live Load or Unload: $40 each
• Extra Stops, Crosstown and Shuttles: $15 each
• Hazmat Loads: $30 each
• Detention: $20 per hour after 1.5 hours on live loads, after 1 hour on drop and hook
• Training: $225 per day for 3 to 5 days
• 6th Day: available when freight allows

The Work

• Tuesday to Saturday, out 5 days and home 2
• Containers between rail yards in St. Louis and Kansas City and customers within 300 miles
• Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Iowa and Nebraska
• 100% automatic sleepers with 1500 watt inverters, mostly Freightliner

Requirements

• At least 21 years old with a valid Class A CDL
• 3 months verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last 6 months with one carrier, 6 months in the last 12 months, or 12 months in the last 5 years
• Hazmat endorsement within 90 days of hire (cost reimbursed)
• A safe, secure place to keep the tractor on days off, or use of one of our terminals
• No more than 2 moving violations and no careless or reckless driving in the last 3 years
• No DUI/DWI in the last 5 years and no major preventable accidents in the last 3 years
• Must pass hair and urine drug testing, with no failed drug or alcohol test in the last 5 years
