Job summary

American Driver LLC in the Kansas City region is hiring regional intermodal truck drivers. Your truck goes home on weekends and you’ll earn about $1,500 per week, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus and no freight touches.

Schedule is 5 days out, 2 home, serving KC, St. Louis and nearby terminals within roughly 300 miles, across MO, KS, OK, AR, IA, NE and IL. Training and on-site support are provided, with benefits and retirement plans available.

Job description

Take your truck home on the weekend, get a $10,000 sign-on bonus, and never touch the freight. This regional intermodal job runs out of the Kansas City area, and drivers average $1,500 a week.

Pay Breakdown

• Mileage: $0.56 per mile to start, plus 1 cent every year up to $0.61, on about 2,000 miles per week
• Drop and Hook: $25
• Live Load or Unload: $40
• Extra Stops: $15
• Crosstown and Shuttle Moves: $15
• Hazmat Loads: $30 each
• Detention: $20 per hour after 1.5 hours on live loads, after 1 hour on drop and hook
• Training: $225 per day for 3 to 5 days in Kansas City
• Extra Days: a 6th day is available when freight allows

Schedule and Home Time

• Tuesday to Saturday: out 5 days, home 2
• Region: containers to and from rail yards in Kansas City and St. Louis and customers within 300 miles, including Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska and Illinois

Equipment

• 100% automatic sleepers, mostly Freightliner
• 1500 watt inverter in every truck
• Company owned tractors, containers and chassis
• 3 uniform shirts at orientation plus $150 a year for uniforms

Requirements

• At least 21 years old with a valid Class A CDL
• 3 months verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last 6 months with one carrier, 6 months in the last 12 months, or 12 months in the last 5 years
• Hazmat endorsement within 90 days of hire (cost reimbursed)
• Able to keep the tractor at home or at a safe, secure location on days off
• No more than 2 moving violations and no careless or reckless driving in the last 3 years
• No DUI/DWI in the last 5 years and no major preventable accidents in the last 3 years
• Must pass hair and urine drug testing, with no failed drug or alcohol test in the last 5 years
