Job summary

Lever, Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking a CDL-A Railroad Rerail Operator for a full-time, direct-hire role. Starting pay is $26/hour, with higher rates based on experience.

You will join a field crew performing railroad rerailing, track maintenance, and related construction work, with heavy equipment operation opportunities. You will transport and operate equipment, assist rerailing operations, and work outdoors under changing priorities.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Good driving record.
• Previous construction labor or other physically demanding experience.
• Able to complete required qualification tests, training and safety programs.
• Able to work outdoors in a physically demanding environment.
• Must be available 24/7 for emergency response.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a field crew in time‑sensitive situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT pre- and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment.
• Transport machinery, materials, and equipment to and from job sites.
• Inspect loads and verify permits for overweight/oversized transport.
• Load, unload, move, stage, position, and secure equipment and materials.
• Participate in daily work planning and safety briefings.
• Assist with railroad rerailing operations, load adjustment, and track maintenance.
