Job summary

C.R. England in Macon, GA is seeking a mentor driver to train an apprentice in a no-touch, predominantly refrigerated freight environment.

You will accompany an apprentice, teaching safe driving practices, compliance with laws, and company policies while delivering on-time performance. This on-site, full-time role focuses on coaching a driver through daily routes with home time of 2–3 weeks out and 2–3 days at home, with an emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• 25 years of age or older.
• 6+ months of current CDL-A driving experience.
• Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA, FSA, Life and AD+D Insurance.
• PTO and 401(k).

Responsibilities

Teaching a new driver the job, one mile at a time, is the heart of this OTR mentor seat. You share the cab with an apprentice and show them how to run a truck safely and efficiently, following state and local laws and C.R. England's policies.

Freight is mostly refrigerated with some dry loads, and all of it is no-touch. Delivery locations and haul lengths vary based on where you live.

Strong work ethic and clear communication are what make a mentor succeed here. If you like passing on what you know, this role puts that to work.

Day to Day:

• Train apprentices to operate a truck safely and efficiently
• Coach compliance with state and local laws and company policies
• Haul no-touch freight, primarily refrigerated with some dry
• Routes and haul lengths shaped around your place of residence

Home Time:

• 2-3 weeks out with 2-3 days off

Equipment:

• Freightliner trucks three years old or newer
• Company-provided sleeper trucks pulling 53' trailers
• All trucks have automatic transmissions
