US 1 Shorthaul is seeking a Part-Time On-Call CDL Yard Jockey in Hazelwood, MO. The role covers shifts for PTO or call-offs, offering flexible hours and extra income while keeping you home daily.

Responsibilities include yard movement, load hookups, and safe operation in busy environments. On-call availability is required, with background and drug screening part of the process.

• Good knowledge of industrial equipment.
• Ability to operate a two-way radio.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Great interpersonal and communication skills.
• Understanding and communicating in the English language is a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Transporting loads from our warehouse to the local distribution center.
• Drop the loads at the local distribution center.
• Hook up a load at the local distribution center.
• Drop the load from the local distribution center to our warehouse.
• Maneuvering truck and trailer safely in busy industrial environments.
• Regularly checking equipment for faults or damages.
• Ensuring the equipment complies with all guidelines, including weight restrictions.
• Produce activity logs.
• Identifying workplace safety hazards.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Part-Time On-Call CDL Yard Jockey
We are seeking a Part-Time On-Call CDL Yard Jockey Driver to join our team. This position will provide coverage for scheduled time off (PTO) or unexpected call-offs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional driver who’s looking to earn extra income with a flexible schedule.
Position Details:

• On-call as needed to cover shifts for full-time drivers
• May include short-notice availability

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 18 months, verifiable over-the-road experience in the past 5 years, of which 12 months must be within the past 3 years that is similar experience
  • May substitutelocal for over-the-road experience
• Experience backing 48' to 53' trailers (including in tight spaces and to dock doors)
• This position must pass pre-hire background and drug test

POSITION TYPE:

• This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position
• Hours worked over 40 hours in 1-week qualify for overtime (paid time and a half)

TRAVEL:

• No OTR for this position
