Job summary

Republic Services in Indianapolis is seeking a CDL A Driver to safely operate heavy trucks and ensure compliant delivery and removal of large waste containers. You must follow safety standards and complete daily vehicle condition reports for timely repairs.

Responsibilities include pre- and post-trip inspections, route servicing, minor container repairs, and courteous interactions with customers and dispatchers to uphold service quality.

Qualifications

• Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; acts in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers.
• Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.
• Good follow through ability; adheres to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise.
• Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules; promotes safety standards; avoids unnecessary risks.
• Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure proper working order.
• Safely operate the heavy truck along designated route and service each customer as identified.
• Operate controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of material at the designated facility.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and others to ensure timely service.
• Perform minor repairs to containers on site or in the container yard.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag as required.
• Monitor waste and prevent contamination; respond to spills safely.
• Maintain vehicle readiness and clean waste from containers on trips.
• Complete route sheets, vehicle condition reports, and other required reports.
• Follow safety policies and participate in the ReSOP program.
