Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Local P&D or City Driver to operate tractor‑trailer combinations between service centers and customer facilities in the Dracut, MA area.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and on-time freight delivery, with DOT compliance and drug/alcohol testing requirements. Qualifications include a valid Class A CDL with required endorsements, plus at least 12 months of driving experience or completion of an approved training program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Class A CDL with double/triple trailers, tanker, and hazmat endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations between service centers and customer locations within the geographic area.
• Load/unload freight using pallets or forklift in compliance with DOT guidelines.
• Follow DOT hours-of-service regulations and pass drug/alcohol tests.
• Secure freight inside trailers and inspect trailers for safety prior to trips.
• Communicate with service center personnel to ensure on-time deliveries.
