Job summary

Gordon Food Service is hiring a CDL A Delivery Driver in Houston, TX. You will deliver food products to restaurants, schools, hospitals, and other customers on local routes and return home each day.

The role requires a Class A CDL, 1–2 years of driving experience, and physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs and move heavy cases with a two-wheel cart. You will unload, drive safely, and follow DOT rules daily.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A CDL license at hire.
• 1-2 years of driving experience.
• Able to lift up to 100 lbs and operate a two-wheel cart up to 350 lbs.
• Must read, write, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food products to customers, building relationships on route.

• Work day shifts on local routes with home daily.

Day shifts and local routes mean you’ll be home every day. You’ll be required to unload cases up to 100 lbs, and you’ll be using a ramp and two-wheeler throughout your shift. Schedule

Monday-Friday. Start time 3 AM-5 AM until route finish

Pay

Drivers average $65,000 - $90,000/year

• Guaranteed minimum of $1,250/5 day week
• Daily base pay, plus component pay
• Paid for every mile driven, stop made, and case delivered

• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage (including marijuana) and a background check
• Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards
• You must be registered through the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent in order to be considered for employment with us effective January 6th, 2020.
