Job summary

Gordon Food Service is seeking a CDL A Delivery Driver in Houston, TX. You will deliver food products to customers, build relationships, and work local routes with daily home time.

The role requires a Class A CDL, 1–2 years of driving experience, and the ability to lift 100 lbs as well as operate a two-wheeler. You will be paid weekly and can expect a strong earning potential.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Class A CDL at hire.
• 1–2 years of driving experience.
• Able to operate a two-wheel cart with loads up to 350 pounds.
• Able to lift up to 100 lbs during the shift.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Successfully pass a drug test and background check.
• Clean driving record; DOT standards apply.
• Must be registered through the DOT Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food products to customers (restaurants, schools, hospitals, universities, etc.).
• Build relationships with customers during delivery.
• Unload cases up to 100 lbs.
• Use a ramp and two-wheeler throughout the shift.
• Home daily with day shifts and local routes.

CDL A Delivery Driver

In this position, you will be building relationships with customers while delivering food products essential to restaurants, schools, hospitals, universities, and more. Day shifts and local routes mean you’ll be home every day. You’ll be required to unload cases up to 100 lbs, and you’ll be using a ramp and two-wheeler throughout your shift. Schedule

Monday-Friday. Start time 3 AM-5 AM until route finish

Pay

Drivers average $65,000 - $90,000/year

• Guaranteed minimum of $1,250/5 day week
• Daily base pay, plus component pay
• Paid for every mile driven, stop made, and case delivered

Does this look like you?

• At least 21 years of age
• Class A CDL License at hire
• 1-2 years of driving experience
• Ability to operate a two-wheel cart with loads of up to 350 pounds
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs throughout the shift
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork, and follow verbal instructions)
• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage (including marijuana) and a background check
• Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards
• You must be registered through the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent in order to be considered for employment with us effective January 6th, 2020.
