Job summary

Gordon Food Service in Akron, OH is seeking a CDL A Delivery Driver to join our team. You will build relationships with customers while delivering food products to restaurants, schools, hospitals, and more. Home daily, start between 3 AM and 5 AM; unload up to 100 lbs; use ramp and two-wheeler; new drivers welcome.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL license required at hire.
• Must be 21+ and able to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Able to operate a two-wheel cart up to 350 lbs.
• Must read, write and communicate in English and pass background/drug test.
• Must be registered with the DOT Clearinghouse and provide consent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food products to customers including restaurants, schools, hospitals and more.
• Unload cases up to 100 lbs and use a ramp and two-wheeler.
• Build relationships with customers and ensure on-time delivery.
• Maintain safe driving practices and comply with DOT standards.

CDL A Delivery Driver

Location: Akron, OH

Do you have a passion for driving? Are you looking for more home time? Picture yourself as a delivery driver with Gordon Food Service! In this position, you will be building relationships with customers while delivering food products essential to restaurants, schools, hospitals, universities, and more. Day shifts and local routes mean you’ll be home every day. You’ll be required to unload cases up to 100 lbs, and you’ll be using a ramp and two-wheeler throughout your shift. Schedule

Home Daily! Start time 3 AM - 5AM until work until the route is finished.

Pay

• Drivers average $70K - $100K /year
• Guaranteed minimum of $1100 /week
• Daily base pay, plus component pay
• Paid for every mile driven, stop made, and case delivered

Does this look like you?

• At least 21 years of age
• Class A CDL License at hire
• Ability to operate a two-wheel cart with loads of up to 350 pounds
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs throughout the shift
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork, and follow verbal instructions)
• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage (including marijuana) and a background check
• Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards
• You must be registered through the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent in order to be considered for employment with us effective January 6th, 2020.
