Job summary

Schneider National in North Carolina is seeking a driver for intermodal hauling. You will move freight containers secured on company chassis, with 90% no-touch and 85% drop-and-hook operations, driving through multiple southern states and into railyards.

Orientation is paid, benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, and competitive bonus potential. Applicants must have a valid CDL-A and meet HazMat timelines.

Qualifications

• Tanker endorsement strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Haul freight containers secured to company-owned chassis.
• Operate intermodal equipment with emphasis on drop-and-hook freight.
• Drive in and out of railyards within AL, FL, GA, NC, SC and TN.
• Adhere to safety policies, routing and hours-of-service rules.

Pay and bonus potential

• Mileage pay and load pay, plus hourly pay while on duty, not driving.


• Paid orientation.


• Paid time off after 6 months, plus 6 days of holiday pay per year.


• Annual bonus: Earn up to 3% of annual gross pay each year.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).


• Tanker endorsement is strongly preferred.


• HazMat endorsement required within 90 days of hire — Schneider’s self-paced online certification training will help you secure it.


• Live within 50 miles of Charlotte, NC.
