The role is in-person in Michigan, emphasizing air brake and tanker regulations, accurate record-keeping, and mentorship to trainees pursuing CDL credentials. Join a growing nation-wide CDL education team.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as a Michigan CDL instructor with 3+ years’ experience.
• Ability to pass a DOT drug screen.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Flexible with weekly schedule based on student demand.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on driving lessons in tractor-trailers to develop students’ practical skills.
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Prepare and evaluate training materials aligned with regulations and company standards.
• Ensure training activities adhere to federal/state regulations, including air brake and tanker endorsements safety.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and certification documents.
• Foster a positive learning environment and motivate students to achieve CDL licensing goals.

Join our dynamic team as an experienced Class A CDL Instructor in Detroit. In this energetic and impactful position, you will leverage your extensive leadership and commercial driving experience to educate aspiring drivers, ensuring they develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to excel on the road. Duties

• Conduct hands-on driving lessons in various truck configurations, including tractor-trailers, to develop students’ practical skills.
• Assess student performance continuously, providing constructive feedback to promote improvement and confidence.
• Prepare and evaluate training materials aligned with industry regulations and company standards.
• Ensure all training activities adhere to federal and state commercial driving regulations, including safety procedures for air brake and tanker endorsements.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and certification documentation.
• Foster a positive learning environment that motivates students to achieve their CDL licensing goals.

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid Class A CDL license.
• Strong knowledge of air brake systems, tanker operations, and tractor-trailer safety standards.
• Prior experience with a focus on teaching or training adult learners.
• Excellent communication skills to clearly convey complex concepts and instructions.
• Ability to demonstrate safe driving techniques and conduct practical assessments confidently.
• Familiarity with federal Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations related to commercial driving.
