The role involves operating and servicing heavy equipment used in clearing railroad derailments, and ensuring PPE and safety protocols are followed. Candidates must hold a valid CDL-A with manual endorsement and DOT medical card, be on call 24/7 with travel to job sites, live within 45 minutes of the shop, and pass background, drug screen, and a physical capacity test.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A with manual endorsement and DOT medical card.
• Willing to be on call 24/7 and travel to job sites.
• Live within 45 minutes of the R. J. Corman shop.
• Pass background, drug screen, and physical capacity test.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs; work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Transporting, operating, and servicing heavy equipment used in clearing derailments.
• Material handling of heavy steel chains, blocks, and cables.
• Practice safe working habits and ensure PPE usage.
• Drive, operate, and maintain CDL-A required vehicles and equipment.
• Maintenance, cleaning, and setup of equipment using tools including torch and welding.
• Digging, hammering, and other physical work with various tools.
• Follow DOT regulations and driving permits.
• Work outside in all weather conditions.
• Communicate with team and supervisor throughout the job process.
• Other duties as assigned.
