R.J. Corman Railroad Services is seeking a CDL-A Heavy Equipment Operator for their Emergency Response team in Atlanta, GA. This hands-on role involves traveling to support railroad customers, clearing derailments, and restoring critical rail operations.

Ideal candidates are safety-focused, enjoy outdoor work, and thrive in challenging environments as part of a skilled team. Valid CDL-A and prior heavy equipment experience are required, with on-call availability and physical endurance expected.

Competenze

• Valid Class A CDL with no restrictions.
• Experience operating heavy equipment.
• Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and physical capacity assessment.
• On-call 24/0.
• Must live within 45 minutes of the derailment shop.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and outdoor work.
• Comfort working at heights over 25 feet and in confined spaces.
• Work outdoors in changing weather and around moving vehicles/equipment.

What You’ll Need

• Valid Class A CDL with no restrictions
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment
• Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability
• Ability to be on call 24/0
• Must live within 45 minutes of R.J. Corman Derailment shop
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check, drug screening, and physical capacity assessment
• Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching)
• Comfort working at heights over 25 feet and in confined spaces
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions and around moving vehicles/equipment
