Job summary

Hulcher Services Inc. is seeking a CDL A Heavy Equipment Operator Apprentice I to join our emergency railroad response team. You will train on cranes, hydraulic equipment, and other heavy recovery gear, supporting derailment recovery across assigned regions.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with no restrictions.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 emergency response environment.
• Ability to pass required background screenings and pre-employment requirements.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work (up to 100 lb occasionally, 50 lb frequently).
• Comfortable outdoors in all weather and at heights over 25 ft.

Responsibilities

• Transport specialized heavy equipment using tractor-trailers and escort vehicles.
• Assist with railroad derailment recovery operations.
• Learn to operate heavy recovery equipment under supervision.
• Handle rigging gear, chains, and recovery tools.
• Perform equipment setup, maintenance, and inspections.
• Work safely around active railroads and heavy equipment.
