Job summary

The Kloeckner Metals Corporation is seeking a driver responsible for the safe, efficient transport of steel service center products under the Traffic Manager's guidance. This role requires CDL compliance, proper load management, and adherence to DOT rules.

The driver will protect cargo from weather and damage, inspect and maintain fleet equipment, and uphold professionalism with customers and officials while following training programs and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 21 years old and CDL with proper endorsements.
• Safe driving record and ability to pass DOT physical exam and drug test.
• Minimum 6 months verifiable experience driving Class A vehicles; may require the Gearing Up program.
• Must comply with state and federal highway regulations.

Responsibilities

• Transport steel service center products safely and efficiently under Traffic Manager direction.
• Meet CDL compliance requirements and maintain all licensing within time limits.
• Ensure proper loading, weight distribution, and load security before transport.
• Protect products from weather and damage during transit and unloading.
• Inspect fleet equipment and report any issues; support use of new technology in trucks.
• Maintain professionalism with customers, co-workers, and authorities; report incidents promptly.
• Prepare materials for unloading and supervise unloading at destination.
• Complete required checks and participate in the Gearing Up program as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain reliable work history.
