Kloeckner Metals Corporation is seeking a truck driver responsible for the safe, efficient transportation of steel products. You will follow the Traffic Manager's direction, ensure proper loading, secure cargo, and inspect the fleet to maintain a high standard of safety and reliability.

The role emphasizes strict adherence to CDL requirements, regulatory rules, and professional conduct with customers and authorities. Training programs and ongoing safety are key parts of the position.

Qualifications

• CDL with proper endorsements and a clean driving record.
• DOT physical exam and drug test; subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
• Minimum 6 months verifiable Class A driving experience; those with under 2 years may need to complete the “Gearing Up” program before driving alone.
• 21+ years old; High School diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Transport steel service center products safely and efficiently under the direction of the Traffic Manager.
• Ensure proper loading, weight distribution, and secure loads prior to transport.
• Inspect fleet equipment and maintain good condition; suggest needed upkeep.
• Support use of new technology and equipment installed in trucks.
• Maintain professionalism with customers, coworkers, supervisors, officials and the public.
• Practice safe driving at all times and prepare materials for unloading at destination.
