Job summary

Kloeckner Metals - Americas is seeking a Truck Driver responsible for the safe, efficient transportation of steel service center products under direction of the Traffic Manager. This role requires a Class A CDL, a clean driving record, and compliance with DOT rules.

Responsibilities include load securement, pre-trip inspections, and unloading coordination, with a focus on safety, quality, and reliability. Training through the Gearing Up program may be required for less-experienced drivers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 21+ years old required.
• CDL with proper endorsements required.
• Safe driving record required.
• Must pass DOT physical exam and drug test; random testing possible.
• Minimum 6 months verifiable Class A driving experience; Gearing Up may be required for drivers with 6–24 months experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with CDL requirements and time limits.
• Adhere to state and federal highway rules and regulations.
• Verify proper loading and weight distribution prior to transport.
• Secure loads to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Protect products from weather and other damage during transport.
• Inspect fleet equipment and maintain cleanliness.
• Support use of new technology and equipment in trucks.
• Maintain professionalism with customers and officials.
• Practice safe driving at all times.
• Prepare materials for unloading and supervise unloading at destination.
• Immediately report problems or accidents to Traffic Manager and authorities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate reliable work history and attention to detail.
