Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. in Nashville, TN is seeking a Truck Driver Student to train toward a CDL-A while earning pay and benefits. You’ll attend training sessions, gain on-the-job experience as an LTL Driver, perform vehicle inspections, maintain records, and load/unload freight with a forklift when needed.

You will verify documentation, follow FMCSR and safety policies, and stay connected with service center teams in a fast-paced setting. Benefit options are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• At least 1 year of related experience.
• Hold a valid state driver's license for 12 months.
• CDL-A permit by first day of class; endorsements for double/triple trailers, tanker and HAZMAT within 90 days.
• Initiate TSA background check by week 2.
• Safe driving record.
• Pass DOT drug test with no positives in last 3 years.
• Pass company DOT physical and pre-hire test.
• Available for days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Attend training sessions to obtain a CDL-A.
• Gain on-the-job experience as an LTL Driver.
• Under supervision, perform vehicle inspections per FMCSR.
• Maintain records by FMCSR, DOT and company policies.
• Load and unload freight using a forklift as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Adhere to company safety policies.
• Maintain contact with service center personnel in a fast-paced environment.
