Job summary

XPO is seeking a Truck Driver Student in Tennessee to participate in CDL‑A training and on‑the‑job experience as an LTL Driver. You’ll perform required inspections, maintain records, and ensure safety while loading and unloading freight with a forklift when needed.

The role supports career growth with education assistance, health and disability coverage, PTO, holidays, and a 401(k) match. Expect variable shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• 1 year of related experience.
• Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months.
• Attain a CDL-A permit by the first day of class and the following endorsements within 90 days of employment: double/triple trailers, tanker and HAZMAT.
• Initiate the TSA fingerprint-based background check by the second week of class.
• Safe driving record and history.
• Pass a DOT drug test with no prior positives in 3 years.
• Pass a company-paid DOT physical and pre-hire test.
• Available to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Attend training sessions to obtain a CDL-A.
• Gain on-the-job experience as an LTL Driver.
• Perform FMCSR inspections under 396.13 under supervision.
• Maintain records per FMCSR, DOT and company policies.
• Load and unload freight using a forklift as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Adhere to company safety policies.
• Maintain contact with service center personnel in a fast-paced environment.
