Job summary

PFG Customized in Kendallville, IN is seeking entry level Driver Trainee to learn tractor-trailer operations and customer deliveries across local routes. You will train under a driver trainer, perform safety checks, and begin unloading and loading responsibilities as you gain experience.

No experience required if you hold CDL-A; the role offers 4-day work weeks, benefits from day one, uniforms, boot allowance, and a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Internal PFG candidates: 1 year of service and able to attain CDL Permit and DOT Health Card.
• External Driver School Direct Hire: 0-6 months experience with a CDL License.
• External Entry Level Hire: 0-6 months with a CDL License.
• Valid CDL A and must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years; pass post offer drug test; pass road test; valid DOT Health Card.
• Able to lift and move freight up to 60-90 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program.
• Ride with driver trainer and assist deliveries as required.
• Perform safe pre/post-trip inspections per DOT regulations.
• Follow DOT and company safety guidelines; report hazards.
• Inspect trailer loading and verify invoices; complete required paperwork.
• Drive to deliver orders according to route schedule.
• Unload items, obtain signatures, collect payments where required.
• Ensure security of tractor, trailer and freight at all times.
• Complete daily hours-of-service records as required.
• Perform general housekeeping and end-of-shift duties.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
