Job summary
Republic Services in Salem is seeking a Driver – CDL (A) to safely operate heavy commercial trucks for delivery and removal of large containers. You will ensure compliance with safety standards and complete daily vehicle condition reports.
The role requires a Class A CDL with air brakes endorsement, strong customer service, time management, and adherence to safety policies. Two years of prior trucking experience is preferred, with opportunities for growth within our nationwide waste-services
Qualifications
- Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks preferred.
- Must have Class A Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.
- Promotes safety standards and adheres to company policies.
Responsibilities
- Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle.
- Safely operate heavy truck along designated route and service customers.
- Operate controls to lift and load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of material.
- Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and others daily.
- Perform minor repairs to containers on site or in yard.
- Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers.
- Monitor waste for unacceptable waste.
- Complete required route/productivity sheets and reports.
- Maintain productivity standards to service customers timely.
