Job summary

NIS EXPRESS seeks Class A CDL drivers for regional runs around Michigan and the eastern seaboard. Training pays $900 per week for 4–6 weeks with an experienced trainer, on real freight routes, before solo dispatch.

After solo, expect $1,200–$1,400 per week, with a guaranteed $1,000 per week for the first 3 months after solo. Mileage starts at $0.55 per mile, plus $0.01 per mile for each year of experience, and home time every two weeks.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 or older with a Class A CDL.
• Proof of at least 120 training hours from an accredited school for brand-new drivers.
• OTR experience: 6 months in past year or 1 year in last 5 years.
• Two moving violations or fewer in 2 years and zero major crashes in 5 years.
• Clean DUI/DWI history for 5–10 years.
• Must pass DOT medical exam and drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Operate dry-van freight on routes along the eastern seaboard.
• Maintain home time every 2 weeks and follow scheduling.
• Adhere to drop-and-hook, live load and live unload procedures.

Training

• Pay: $900 per week, guaranteed
• Length: 4 to 6 weeks with an experienced trainer
• Format: Real freight on real routes

Solo Driving

• Average Weekly Pay: $1,200 to $1,400
• Guaranteed Pay: $1,000 per week for your first 3 months after first solo dispatch
• Mileage Rate: $0.55 to start, plus $0.01 per mile for each additional year of experience, up to $0.65
• Weekly Miles: 2,100 to 2,500
• Stop Pay: $15 per stop
• Monthly Bonus: Performance based

Schedule and Freight

• Home Time: Every 2 weeks
• Lanes: Up and down the eastern seaboard, loads do not go far west
• Freight: Dry van: drop and hook, live load, live unload
• Hiring Area: Within 200 miles of Detroit, MI
