Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking delivery drivers to ensure timely, accurate deliveries of food products to our diverse customer base. The role emphasizes safe driving, professional customer interactions, and strict adherence to DOT regulations.

Drivers are responsible for pre/post trip inspections, proper loading/unloading, and completing all required documentation. Competitive pay and day-one benefits support a stable, rewarding career in food distribution.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
• 6+ months commercial driving
• Valid CDL-A
• Must be 21+ years of age
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
• Clean MVR for past 3 years
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
• Pass road test
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift; product generally ranges from 10-35 pounds and up to 60-90 pounds depending on location

Responsibilities

• Interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally and answers questions promptly
• Performs safety checks including pre/post trip and inspections per DOT regulations
• Reports safety issues and repairs
• Delivers customer orders according to route schedule
• Unloads products and places them in designated storage areas
• Ensures proper documentation and signatures for deliveries
• Loads returns and secures trailer doors
• Completes daily hours-of-service records per DOT guidelines
• Maintains clean tractor, dock area and trailers
