Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is seeking a skilled CDL-A Driver to join our Transportation team. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of metal materials to and from client sites and AIM facilities.

Responsibilities include operating a Class A vehicle, loading/unloading materials, performing pre-/post-trip inspections, and maintaining delivery records. Local runs are common with potential out-of-state work based on qualifications and needs.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A with clean MVR and Medical card.
• Experience driving 18-speed manual transmission.
• Minimum 2 years as CDL-A driver.
• Experience with flatbed/roll-off/open top trailers.
• Physically fit; able to tarp 40 and 53yd bins.
• Familiar with metal recycling processes (asset).

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A vehicle to transport metal materials to and from designated locations, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and company policies.
• Safely load and unload metal materials onto the truck using appropriate equipment and secure the load to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Local runs, with opportunities for out-of-state runs depending on qualification and availability.
• Perform manual tarping when necessary.
• Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle condition.
• Complete accurate records of deliveries and required documentation.

We are seeking a skilled and professional CDL-A Driver to join our Transportation team. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of metal materials to and from client sites and other AIM facilities.

What you’re responsible for:

• Operatinga Class A commercial vehicleto transport metal materials to and from designated locations, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and company policies
• Safely loading and unloading metal materials onto the truck using appropriate equipmentand secure the load to prevent shifting or damage during transit
• Local runs, with opportunities for out of state runs depending on qualification and availability
• Performing manual tarping if necessary
• Performing routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, ensuring that it is in good working condition
• Completingaccurate and thorough records of deliveriesand any other required documentation
  
  

Qualifications

To join our team:

• You have a valid CDL A driver's license with a clean MVR and Medical
• You have experience driving 18 speedmanual transmission (required)
• You have a minimum of 2years of experience as an CDL-A Driver
• You have experience with flatbed, roll-off, lugger, or open top trailer
• You are physically fit and able to hand tarp 40 and 53yd bins
• You are familiar with metal recycling processes and materials (an asset)
• You can perform loading and unloading activities as required
