Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is seeking a skilled CDL-A Driver to join our Transportation team, starting at 6:00am, Monday–Friday. You will safely transport metal materials to and from client sites and AIM facilities, performing loading/unloading, tarping, and routine vehicle inspections.

The role requires a valid CDL-A with clean MVR/Medical, 18-speed manual experience, and 2+ years of CDL-A driving. Local runs are common, with potential for out-of-state work; training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL A license with a clean MVR and Medical.
• Experience driving 18 speed manual transmission.
• Minimum 2 years of CDL-A experience.
• Experience with flatbed, roll-off, lugger, or open top trailer.
• Physically able to tarp 40 and 53yd bins.
• Familiar with metal recycling processes (asset).
• Able to perform loading and unloading activities.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport metal materials between designated locations.
• Safely load and unload materials and secure loads for transit.
• Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle condition.
• Complete accurate delivery records and required documentation.
• Local runs with potential for out-of-state trips depending on qualifications.
• Perform tarping and ensure safety and compliance.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and professional CDL-A Driver to join our Transportation team starting at 6:00am, Monday-Friday.

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of metal materials to and from client sites and other AIM facilities.

What you’re responsible for:

• Operatinga Class A commercial vehicleto transport metal materials to and from designated locations, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and company policies
• Safely loading and unloading metal materials onto the truck using appropriate equipmentand secure the load to prevent shifting or damage during transit
• Local runs, with opportunities for out of state runs depending on qualification and availability
• Performing manual tarping if necessary
• Performing routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, ensuring that it is in good working condition
• Completingaccurate and thorough records of deliveriesand any other required documentation

Qualifications

To join our team:

• You have a valid CDL A driver's license with a clean MVR and Medical
• You have experience driving 18 speedmanual transmission (required)
• You have a minimum of 2years of experience as an CDL-A Driver
• You have experience with flatbed, roll-off, lugger, or open top trailer
• You are physically fit and able to hand tarp 40 and 53yd bins
• You are familiar with metal recycling processes and materials (an asset)
• You can perform loading and unloading activities as required
