Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is seeking a skilled CDL-A Driver to join our Transportation team. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of metal materials to and from client sites and AIM facilities.

This full-time role offers a competitive package with benefits, including tuition assistance and a 401k matching program, with local and potential out-of-state runs based on qualification.

Qualifications

• CDL-A license with a clean MVR and medical certification.
• Experience driving 18-speed manual transmission is required.
• Minimum 2 years as a CDL-A driver.
• Experience with flatbed, roll-off, lugger, or open-top trailers.
• Physically able to tarp and handle 40 and 53 yd bins.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A vehicle to transport metal materials to and from designated locations.
• Safely load and unload materials and secure the load for transit.
• Local runs with opportunities for out-of-state runs depending on qualification.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain records.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and professional CDL-A Driver to join our Transportation team. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of metal materials to and from client sites and other AIM facilities.

What you’re responsible for:

• Operatinga Class A commercial vehicleto transport metal materials to and from designated locations, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and company policies
• Safely loading and unloading metal materials onto the truck using appropriate equipmentand secure the load to prevent shifting or damage during transit
• Local runs, with opportunities for out of state runsdepending on qualification and availability
• Performing manual tarping if necessary
• Performing routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, ensuring that it is in good working condition
• Completingaccurate and thorough records of deliveriesand any other required documentation

Qualifications

To join our team:

• You have a valid CDL A driver's license with a clean MVRand Medical
• You have experience driving 18 speed manual transmission (required)
• You have a minimum of 2years of experience as an CDL-ADriver
• You have experience withflatbed, roll-off, lugger, or open top trailer
• You are physically fit and able to hand tarp 40 and 53yd bins
• You are familiar with metal recycling processes and materials (an asset)
• You can perform loading and unloading activities as required
