Job summary

Ben E. Keith Company is hiring a Driver Trainee to deliver products along assigned routes with multiple stops and varying levels of difficulty. You will maintain delivery time windows, read invoices, assemble orders, and ensure accuracy and safe handling of goods.

After successful completion of the driver training program, you are expected to transition to a Driver DOT position with Ben E. Keith Foods, serving communities across Texas.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and meeting quality standards for services.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver product along assigned routes with multiple stops and varying difficulty.
• Read customer invoices to determine items to move, gather, and deliver.
• Assemble customer orders for delivery to business locations.
• Maintain delivery time windows for each stop on the route.
• Maintain accuracy of delivered product with no damage due to mishandling.
• Obey traffic laws and follow transportation procedures.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment to ensure proper working condition.
• Report mechanical problems and delays to bases.
