Job summary

Cheney Brothers, Inc. in Naples, FL is seeking a CDL-A delivery driver to support our food distribution network. You will drive a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, with an early 3:00 am to 4:00 am dispatch and home daily after shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 6+ months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL-A
• Must be 21+ years of age
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements
• Clean MVR for past 3 years
• Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
• Pass road test
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card

Responsibilities

• Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
• Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
• Performs safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations and ensures tractor/truck and trailer meet safety standards.
• Follows DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
• Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule.
• Unloads products and transports items into designated customer storage areas.
• Completes daily hours-of-service logs in accordance with federal and company requirements.
• Verifies delivery with customer and collects payment when required.
• Ensures equipment and freight are secured and properly locked.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
