Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Starkville, MS is seeking a professional delivery driver to ensure timely, safe delivery of food and related products to customers. You will be the face of the company, building lasting relationships while adhering to safety and DOT regulations.

The role covers driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, performing pre/post trip inspections, unloading at customer locations, collecting signatures, and maintaining logs.

Qualifications

• 12 months commercial driving experience
• High school diploma/GED or state approved equivalent
• Valid CDL A
• Meet all state licensing/certification requirements
• Must be 21 years of age
• Clean MVR for past 3 years
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
• Pass road test
• Valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure one
• Able to lift and move freight of varying size and weight

Responsibilities

• Communicates with customers and coworkers professionally
• Perform safety checks and DOT inspections
• Inspect tractor/trailer and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Report safety issues and required repairs
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines
• Deliver and unload orders according to route schedule
• Obtain customer signatures and verify delivery
• Maintain required paperwork and logs
• Perform routine housekeeping of trailer and loading area
