Job summary

Gordon Food Service in Wheeling, IL is seeking a CDL A Delivery Driver to efficiently deliver food products to customers such as restaurants, schools, hospitals, and universities. Local routes keep you home every day, with early start times and a focus on safety.

You will unload up to 100 lbs, use a ramp and two-wheeler, and must pass a DOT-compliant drug test plus background check. New drivers are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age
• Class A CDL license required at hire
• Ability to operate a two-wheel cart with loads up to 350 lbs
• Must pass a drug test and background check
• Clean driving record per DOT requirements and Gordon Food Service standards
• Registered through the DOT Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent

Responsibilities

• Deliver food products to customers (restaurants, schools, hospitals, universities, etc.)
• Build relationships with customers and be home daily on local routes
• Unload cases up to 100 lbs and use ramp/two-wheeler during shift
• Follow schedule: Monday–Friday, start times 3 AM–5 AM
• Ensure safety and compliance in all driving and loading activities

CDL A Delivery Driver

Location: 199 Shepard Ave, Wheeling, IL

Do you have a passion for driving? Are you looking for more home time? Picture yourself as a delivery driver with Gordon Food Service! In this position, you will be building relationships with customers while delivering food products essential to restaurants, schools, hospitals, universities, and more. Day shifts and local routes mean you’ll be home every day. You’ll be required to unload cases up to 100 lbs, and you’ll be using a ramp and two-wheeler throughout your shift. Pay: Drivers average $80,000-90,000/year Daily base pay, plus component pay Minimum weekly guarantee of $1,100/week Paid for every mile driven, stop made, and case delivered Total Rewards at GFS

Does this look like you?

• At least 21 years of age

• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage (including marijuana) and a background check
• Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards
• You must be registered through the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent in order to be considered for employment with us effective January 6th, 2020.
