Job summary

Gordon Food Service is hiring a CDL A Delivery Driver in Wheeling, IL. The role offers day shifts and local routes, so you will be home every day while building relationships with customers and delivering essential food products to institutions.

You will unload cases up to 100 lbs using a ramp and two-wheeler, with safety as a priority. Newly licensed drivers are encouraged to apply and the schedule runs Monday through Friday with early start times.

Qualifications

• Must pass drug test and background check.
• DOT driving record compliance and Clearinghouse registration.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food products to customers on local routes.
• Build relationships with customers and ensure timely deliveries.
• Be home daily with day shifts and local routes.
• Unload cases up to 100 lbs and operate ramp/two-wheeler as needed.

CDL A Delivery Driver

Location: 199 Shepard Ave, Wheeling, IL

Do you have a passion for driving? Are you looking for more home time? Picture yourself as a delivery driver with Gordon Food Service! In this position, you will be building relationships with customers while delivering food products essential to restaurants, schools, hospitals, universities, and more. Day shifts and local routes mean you’ll be home every day. You’ll be required to unload cases up to 100 lbs, and you’ll be using a ramp and two-wheeler throughout your shift. Schedule

Monday-Friday. Start time 3 AM-5 AM until route finish

Pay

Drivers average $80,000-90,000/year

• Daily base pay, plus component pay
• Minimum weekly guarantee of $1,100/week
• Paid for every mile driven, stop made, and case delivered

Does this look like you?

• At least 21 years of age
• Class A CDL License at hire
• Ability to operate a two-wheel cart with loads of up to 350 pounds
• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage (including marijuana) and a background check
• Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards
• You must be registered through the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent in order to be considered for employment with us effective January 6th, 2020.
