Job summary

Gordon Food Service in West Haven, CT is seeking a CDL A Delivery Driver to serve customers including restaurants, schools, and hospitals. Most routes are local, with home time every day. Start around 5am, Monday–Friday, and you may unload cases up to 100 lbs using a two-wheel cart.

Applicants must have a Class A CDL, be at least 21, and pass drug tests and background checks. A clean DOT driving record and Clearinghouse registration are required.

Responsibilities

• Unload cases up to 100 lbs; use ramp and two-wheeler.
• Work Monday–Friday with start around 5am; local routes and home daily.

CDL A Delivery Driver

Location: 38 Boston Post Rd, West Haven CT. Trailer Drop

Do you have a passion for driving? Are you looking for more home time? Picture yourself as a delivery driver with Gordon Food Service! In this position, you will be building relationships with customers while delivering food products essential to restaurants, schools, hospitals, universities, and more. Day shifts and local routes mean you’ll be home every day. You’ll be required to unload cases up to 100 lbs, and you’ll be using a ramp and two-wheeler throughout your shift. Schedule: Monday - Friday. Start time between 5am & until work until the route is finished

Pay: Drivers average $90-110+K /year Daily base pay, plus component pay Paid for every mile driven, stop made, and case delivered

Qualifications & Responsibilities

• At least 21 years of age
• Class A CDL License at hire
• Ability to operate a two-wheel cart with loads of up to 350 pounds
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs throughout the shift
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork, and follow verbal instructions)
• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage (including marijuana) and a background check
• Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards
• You must be registered through the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent in order to be considered for employment with us effective January 6th, 2020.
