Job summary

Gordon Food Service in Michigan is seeking a CDL A Delivery Driver – Relief Driver to deliver food products to restaurants, schools, hospitals and more. Day shifts with local routes keep you home every day, with required unloading of cases and use of a ramp and two-wheeler.

Newly licensed drivers are encouraged to apply; schedule is Monday–Friday with early start times. The role offers weekly pay, health benefits from day one, and opportunities to grow within a stable, respected company.

Responsibilities

CDL A Delivery Driver - Relief Driver Location: 50471 E Russell Schmidt Blvd., Chesterfield

Do you have a passion for driving? Are you looking for more home time? Picture yourself as a delivery driver with Gordon Food Service! In this position, you will be building relationships with customers while delivering food products essential to restaurants, schools, hospitals, universities, and more. Day shifts and local routes mean you’ll be home every day. You’ll be required to unload cases up to 100 lbs, and you’ll be using a ramp and two-wheeler throughout your shift. Schedule: Monday - Friday starting between 4-10AM

Pay: Drivers average $80-90K /year Guaranteed minimum of $1,100/week Daily base pay, plus component pay Paid for every mile driven, stop made, and case delivered

Stability - you’re guaranteed a route and paid weekly

At least 21 years of age

Class A CDL License at hire

Ability to operate a two-wheel cart with loads of up to 350 pounds

Ability to lift up to 100 lbs throughout the shift

Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork, and follow verbal instructions)

Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage (including marijuana) and a background check

Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards

You must be registered through the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent in order to be considered for employment with us effective January 6th, 2020.
