US Foods in Lubbock, TX is seeking a CDL A Delivery Driver to join our foodservice team. You’ll safely navigate highways and docks, deliver to customers, and unload with precision. Training starts immediately with a $22.53/hour base, rising to a guaranteed after-training rate with component pay.

Qualifications

• Must be registered to FMCSA Clearinghouse.
• Minimum 6 months commercial driving experience, or 3 months in food/beverage delivery.
• Must be able to read and communicate in English.
• Must have CDL Class A with endorsements and DOT qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Safe driving and timely delivery to customers.
• Unload using two-wheeler, ramp, or by hand; 100% touch freight.
• Verify deliveries with customers and obtain signatures.
• Provide professional customer service.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety.
• Handle collections and payments when applicable.
• All other duties assigned by management.

Our Drivers start at $22.53 per hour during training. After training Drivers switch to component pay. Component pay is based on factors such as stops, miles, and cases. Drivers may average $35.90 per hour after training!

CDL A Delivery Driver - Position Overview

You'll safely navigate the highway and city streets, back into tight docks, and unload with precision. The CDL A Delivery Driver role goes beyond simply transporting goods - it's about perfecting the craft of delivery, earning trust mile by mile, and serving as a vital link to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe Driving: Deliver products to our customers in a timely and safe manner.
• Unloading: Skillfully unload products efficiently using a two-wheeler, ramp, or by hand, placing them in the designated storage areas - 100% touch freight.
• Delivery Verification: Verify deliveries with customers & secure signatures.
• Customer Service: Provide professional service to enhance customer experience.
• Equipment Inspection: Conduct pre- & post-trip inspections to uphold safety standards.
• Account Management: Handle collections and payments when applicable.
• Adaptability: All other duties assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Lift/carry/push/pull/lower 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required.
• Driving & working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required.
• Comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment as low as 0 degrees.
• Continuously grasp objects & manipulate objects. Frequently sit, stand, walk, drive, climb/balance, stoop/squat, kneel/bend, bend, reach above shoulder, twist, and use manual dexterity.

Qualifications

• Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
• Minimum 6-months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR 3-months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required.
• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations.
• Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

Compensation

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $22.53 and $39.49.

As applicable, this role may also receive: overtime compensation, retention bonus, component pay (i.e., based on cases, mileage, stops).
