US Foods is seeking a CDL A Delivery Driver to join our team in Pittston, PA. You will safely navigate highways and city streets, back into docks, and unload with precision while delivering trust and reliability to customers.

The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and professional service in every stop. Expected base pay ranges from $27.81 to $41.00 per hour, with additional component pay and a $7,500 retention bonus for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL Class A with DOT qualifications.
• Minimum 6 months commercial driving experience (or 3 months in food/beverage delivery).
• Must be 21+ years old and able to read and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Safe driving to deliver products to customers on time and safely.
• Unload products using two-wheeler, ramp, or by hand with 100% touch freight.
• Verify deliveries with customers and obtain signatures.
• Provide professional customer service to enhance experience.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to uphold safety standards.
• Handle collections/payments when applicable on accounts.
• Adapt to other duties as assigned by management.

CDL A Delivery Driver - Position Overview

The CDL A Delivery Driver role goes beyond simply transporting goods - it's about perfecting the craft of delivery, earning trust mile by mile, and serving as a vital link to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe Driving: Deliver products to our customers in a timely and safe manner.
• Unloading: Skillfully unload products efficiently using a two-wheeler, ramp, or by hand, placing them in the designated storage areas - 100% touch freight.
• Delivery Verification: Verify deliveries with customers & secure signatures.
• Customer Service: Provide professional service to enhance customer experience.
• Equipment Inspection: Conduct pre- & post-trip inspections to uphold safety standards.
• Account Management: Handle collections and payments when applicable.
• Adaptability: All other duties assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Lift/carry/push/pull/lower 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required.
• Driving & working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required.
• Comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment as low as 0 degrees.
• Continuously grasp objects & manipulate objects. Frequently sit, stand, walk, drive, climb/balance, stoop/squat, kneel/bend, bend, reach above shoulder, twist, and use manual dexterity.

Qualifications

• Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
• Minimum 6-months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR 3-months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required.
• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations.
• Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $27.81 and $41.00.
