Job summary

Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc. in the Detroit area is hiring truck drivers for local and regional routes with Big Wheels, a subsidiary.

You will operate a Class A tractor-trailer, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and stay in DOT compliance while delivering freight on a tight schedule. We offer per-move pay, up to $295 daily, plus health benefits after 90 days, PTO and paid holidays; first and second shifts available with home daily on weekdays.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL with recent tractor-trailer experience.
• Clean driving record with safe-driving history.
• No DUI/OWI in last 5 years.
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport freight to and from customer locations.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer.
• Follow all DOT regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Secure and handle freight properly (may include loading/unloading depending on the employer).
• Maintain accurate electronic or paper logs, delivery records, and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
• Report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Adhere to schedules while practicing safe driving habits at all times.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Class A CDL 6 months of verifiable tractor trailer experience in the last year
• Clean driving record with proven safe-driving history
• No DUI/OWI in the last 5 yearsNo more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
• No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years
• Strong time management & communication skills
