Job summary

Universal Logistics is seeking a licensed Class A CDL driver to transport freight on local and regional lanes. You will operate a tractor-trailer, perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.

You will secure and handle freight, maintain logs and delivery records, and communicate effectively with dispatch and customers while adhering to schedules and safe driving practices.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL with at least 6 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience.
• Clean driving record and no DUI/OWI in the last 5 years.
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
• No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
• Strong time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A vehicle to transport freight.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections.
• Follow DOT regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Secure and handle freight (may include loading/unloading).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport freight to and from customer locations.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer.
• Follow all DOT regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Secure and handle freight properly (may include loading/unloading depending on the employer).
• Maintain accurate electronic or paper logs, delivery records, and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
• Report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Adhere to schedules while practicing safe driving habits at all times.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Class A CDL 6 months of verifiable tractor trailer experience
• Clean driving record with proven safe-driving history
• No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
• No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years
• Strong time management & communication skills
