Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking dedicated individuals to join the OD Family as Combination Driver/Dockworker. The role supports safe, accurate, and timely freight delivery between service centers and customer locations.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading freight, operating forklifts and tractors, and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations. Flexible shifts and a strong safety focus are emphasized, with opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Must have a valid Class A CDL with double/triple trailers, tanker, and hazardous material endorsements.
Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record.
12 months tractor-trailer driving experience and/or completion of OD Truck Driver Training program.
Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Must pass drug and alcohol tests as required.
Must be at least 22 years of age.
Must be able to follow instructions via radio or phone.
Must be able to operate a handheld computer.

Responsibilities

Load and unload freight on trailers using a forklift or by hand, following DOT guidelines.
Deliver freight between service centers and customer facilities.
Ensure safe loading of all trailers and secure freight with pallets, straps, or rope.
Perform tasks with accuracy, timeliness, and attention to safety.
Maintain regular contact with service center personnel and meet deadlines.
