Job summary

FedEx Freight in Tennessee is seeking drivers to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers, supporting the selling process. The role requires a Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements, adherence to DOT regulations, and ability to perform pre-trip inspections and freight handling.

Expect to operate various vehicle types, communicate with dispatch, and seek additional business opportunities while maintaining safety and accuracy in documentation and procedures.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• Minimum 1 year experience within the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC section 391.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination or straight trucks.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections of equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight with appropriate equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight in trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers about pickup/delivery needs.
