Job summary

The City of Tyler is seeking a Wastewater Biosolids Truck Driver to transport biosolids to and from wastewater treatment plants and landfill, ensuring compliance with State and Federal requirements before disposal or discharge.

You will operate a five-axle truck with a trailer, monitor equipment, and perform routine maintenance, all while maintaining safety and regulatory standards. This is a full-time position requiring availability for overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two years of job-related experience preferred but not required.
• Must have a Class A CDL with an air brake certification and have a good driving record.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends as assigned.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work in extremes of temperature, and be available for possible on-call duty.

Responsibilities

• Drive biosolids truck and trailer.
• Work with electrical equipment and hazardous materials.
• Read, interpret, and apply federal and state regulations for wastewater discharge permits.
• Monitor charts, meters, recorders, and equipment, and adjust accordingly.
• Oversee truck and trailer maintenance; coordinate with Vehicle Services.
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment as required.
• Maintain maintenance records and a clean truck and trailer.
• Troubleshoot biosolids and wastewater processes as needed.
