Job summary

GFL Environmental Services is hiring a Recovery Technician in Texas City. The role involves safely loading and transporting cargo, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. You will complete required logs and documentation while delivering products on schedule.

Requires a High School diploma, Class A or B license with X Endorsement, and ability to lift 75+ lbs. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, secure, and transport cargo in compliance with regulations and safety standards.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections for vehicle and load safety.
• Complete and maintain required documentation (logbooks, manifests, bills of lading).
• Follow transportation, hours of service, dangerous goods, and workplace safety rules.
• Maneuver vehicles for loading/unloading and position equipment properly.
• Report vehicle defects, incidents, and delivery issues promptly.
• Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Deliver products on time, maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Provide training and perform additional duties as assigned.

What you'll do:

What's required:

• High School diploma minimum.
• Class A or B license.
• X Endorsement required
• Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques.
• High level of personal integrity.
• Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors.
• Manual dexterity, ability to lift 75+ lbs required.
