Job summary

SCP Health, a leader in clinical practice management, seeks a Clinical Documentation and Coding Educator to advance Hospital Medicine coding and documentation across facilities. You will counsel clinicians, provide onboarding education, and partner with Operations to improve accuracy and RVU capture.

Travel to territories will be required to deliver in-person education and training sessions. You will document outreach in Salesforce, support EMR training, and collaborate with Data and Performance

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT/HCPCS, and APC coding guidelines.
• Strong analytical, data presentation, and metric management skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to territories as required.
• Experience educating clinicians on documentation and coding.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing outreach education for clinicians on Hospital Medicine coding and documentation using multiple formats.
• Counsel clinicians identified as outliers on a monthly basis or as directed.
• Educate new clinicians on documentation performance within the first month of service.
• Advise Operations on documentation/coding via calls, webinars, or meetings.
• Monthly Facility Report Card analysis to identify documentation/RVU outliers.
• Develop action plans and prioritize outreach.
• Document all outreach activity in Salesforce.
• Participate in EMR training and provide feedback on workflow concepts.
• Travel to territories to provide in-person education and training.
• Collaborate with Data and Performance Analytics teams on clinician feedback.
