Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Clinical Document Improvement Specialist Manager to oversee the CDI program for inpatient documentation. The role ensures provider documentation is accurate and complete, identifies gaps, and supports physicians with education and reviews.

Travel between facilities is required to support the CDI team and physician education efforts. Reporting to the CDI Director, the manager collaborates with care teams to drive improvements in accuracy and timeliness of documentation,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of acute care hospital clinical RN experience OR Medical Graduate with CDI experience and CDI certification (CCDS, CDIP)
• 2+ years of experience communicating & presenting to Physicians
• Proficiency using a PC in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Electronic Medical Records
• Ability to work in Chandler, AZ

Responsibilities

• Conducts chart audits, quality audit and KPI audits
• Oversees CDI staff training and orientation and runs reports
• Oversees workflow for CDI staff
• Develops physician teaching and on-site presentations
• Assist CDI Director with projects or tasks as needed
• Leads CDI staff performance evaluations and coaching
• Ensures timely physician education and clarifications for accurate coding
