Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a CDS with acute care focus.
• Minimum 5 years of healthcare experience overall.
• Preferred: prior CDI/Coding auditing experience.
• Strong knowledge of clinical documentation, coding guidelines, and DRG processes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with clinicians and the CDI team.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and CDI tools (Epic, 3M Encompass).

Responsibilities

• Perform CDI/Coding audits to improve financial and quality metrics.
• Assist CDI Education Lead with provider education materials.
• Review medical records for documentation improvement opportunities.
• Submit queries to clinicians to ensure complete and accurate records.
• Maintain CDI metrics and productivity standards.
• Collaborate with CDI team and leadership on process improvements.
• Reconcile records in CDI software and ensure accurate reporting.
