Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health is seeking a Clinical Documentation Auditor to identify opportunities to improve accuracy of patient acuity through DRG assignment and risk factors. The role involves retrospective chart reviews and collaboration with CDI specialists and medical staff to drive documentation improvement initiatives.

The auditor will present findings, support education plans, and help ensure compliance with coding and documentation standards across the health system.

Qualifications

• MD/MBBS or RN with CCDS/CCS/RHIA/RHIT credentials or equivalent certification.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong analytic, organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and clinical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Identify areas for improvement to reflect patient acuity through accurate DRG assignment and risk adjustment factors.
• Audit patient records post-discharge and provide findings to management with educational recommendations.
• Collaborate with CDI team and multidisciplinary groups to address documentation improvement opportunities.
