Job summary

The City of Thornton is seeking a qualified professional to administer and implement the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. This role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations and coordinates plan development, amendments, and reporting.

The position involves providing technical assistance to subrecipients, preparing required HUD forms, and maintaining files and databases related to CDBG and HOME. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning, public administration, finance, social work, nonprofit management, or related field.
• Three years of experience working with government grants.
• Ability to travel to various locations as job requires.

Responsibilities

• Administers and implements the City's CDBG program, projects, and activities.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and policies.
• Prepares Consolidated Plan, Annual Action Plan, CAPER, and related amendments.
• Gathers information, hires consultants, and completes ERR for CDBG projects.
• Provides technical assistance to subrecipients and contractors on CDBG processes.
• Monitors activities, budgets, and reporting; enters data into IDIS and tracking systems.
• Promotes and educates residents and organizations about the City's CDBG program and fair housing.
