Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or progress toward GED as required by Kentucky law.
• Proven ability to work effectively with children.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty.
• CDA credential required.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations at the times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
• Guides the learning process through curriculum goals and clear objectives.
• Employs varied instructional techniques and media.
• Strives to implement district education goals and objectives.
• Assesses student progress and provides reports to parents as required.
• Maintains records and confidentiality as required by law.
• Assists administration with policies on student conduct.
• Available to students/parents outside instructional day.
• Plans and supervises assignments for teacher aides and volunteers.
• Attends staff meetings and maintains professional competence.
